During the evaluation of investment opportunities it looks for the following characteristics:

- Business models which create attractive risk/reward profiles
- Markets associated with significant growth potential/high unmet medical needs
- Product or product pipelines with first-in-class or best-in-class potential
- Feasibility of clinical and market development strategies
- Healthcare solutions which provide a health economic benefit
- Product innovations which have the potential to reduce costs
